As the HMRC self assessment deadline looms closer, we are constantly reminded that we need to get our financial lives in order. It has always been a time of year to get into a mild panic, frantically searching for those bits of paperwork that have been filed away in what we thought was an organised manner.
The 31st of January is an important date in everyone’s calendar so make sure you are prepared. If you are confused or don’t know what you should do, please don’t leave it till the last minute. Registering for online self assessment will take time and could take up to 2 weeks to get properly registered. Do not leave this till the last minute. Make sure that you are prepared so you avoid any late penalties.
The way to avoid panic is by being prepared. You still have time to sort things out. Now is the time. If you need any help or are not sure you can call HMRC on 0300 200 3600. Make sure that you have your Unique Taxpayer Reference code (UTR) and your registered address to pass through security.
See you on the other side!
