The inner knowing that you can achieve what you set out to achieve, is possible to create and use as a tool for your business. Confidence can play a very important part in whether your business succeeds or not.
Confidence in what you’re selling is the first thing that springs to mind and believing that it can do what you say it can, can be the switch you need to explode your sales in your business. You use different language, you come across as if you know what you’re talking about and can easily back up the claims that you’re making.
You stop nervously revealing the price, coming across as anxious and struggling to answer questions potential customers and clients may have. Setting clear, expectations at the start you’re confident your products/service’s can deliver, can dramatically impact the confidence you have in your product.
Having confidence in your product and service is great, but what about the person running the business? Confidence itself can be one of the deciding factors between success and failure in business.
Confidence is synonymous with belief in yourself and trusting that you can handle yourself in the situations you find yourself in. If you don’t trust yourself in a particular situation, chances are you’ll feel a certain lack in confidence.
Confidence is situational and I’m sure you’ve felt amazing in familiar surroundings but then something new and unfamiliar occurs to reduce your confidence. Having an inner trust in your ability to figure things out can make all the difference.
Ask yourself, “Do I keep the promises you make to myself?” and it can be clear whether you follow through with what you say you will.
If you don’t do what you say you’re going to do with the small things, you won’t even attempt the bigger things. Start small; when you say you’ll do something, simply follow through; and as your confidence and trust in yourself grows, you can start to take bigger action because you know it’s more likely you’ll do what you say you’re going to do.
Knowing who you are can also help to reduce the “baseline” level of the fear and anxiety you feel and increase the level of confidence. Understanding your values and beliefs, while acting in alignment with them, can allow you to feel good about the thoughts, feelings and actions you experience while running your business.
Alongside this, think about the clothes you wear, how you have your hair presented, jewelry, your car even down to the smartphone you have; these things can all play their part in how you feel about yourself. You feel more positive when you project yourself rather than projecting an image that’s intended to please others.
These aspects of confidence can cause some major shifts in how you feel about yourself and your business that will impact how you run your business and the profits that it can generate as a result.
